SCULPTURAL PIECE: WORDS WON'T CUT IT, 2013
POSTER: (S)TONE(S), 2013
SOUND COMPOSITION: STONE STILL HEAR, 2013
PRINT: A VISUAL REPRESENTATION OF
STONE STILL HEAR, 2013
PERFORMANCE: (S)TONE TOLD, 2014

(S)TONE is a set of works dealing with the materiality
of language and the potentialities of text. Informed by
feminist critique of the human-other divide, the project
explores the possibility of historical non-verbal narratives,
based on the assumption that materials within themselves
carry their own historicity, and that any artistic work is a
collaboration between the artist, the space and the materials
within the work.

The project consists of the sculptural piece
WORDS WON'T CUT IT; 8 inscribed bricks,
the poster (S)TONE(S) the print A VISUAL
REPRESENTATION OF STONE STILL HEAR
and the sound composition STONE STILL HEAR.

(S)TONE STILL HEAR, is composed from sounds of
the stone and brick cellar of Krognoshuset, built in
the 14th and 15th century - recordings of vocals as well
as the mere sounds of the space itself. The main vocals
follow a medieval technique for composition, isorythm.
No musical instruments were recorded, and no additional
vocals have been added outside of the cellar.
The recordings have been edited and manipulated into a
19 minute sound piece, consisting of nothing but the
sounds of two days of recordings during the summer
of 2013.

(S)TONE TOLD is a performance version of the project.
Based on the sound composition and images from (S)TONE,
it uses descriptive text and spoken language, put together in a
dense power point presentation.
